Indulge in Epic Ornate Cakes and Desserts at Space Kitchen
When you’re looking for an out of this world cake extravaganza, there’s nowhere quite like Space Kitchen. Located in Woden, this marvellous bakery-cum-restaurant is responsible for some of the Capital’s most outrageous cake confections.
Serving breakfast, lunch, high tea and – of course – a spectacular array of technicolour cakes, Space Kitchen is super-cool and brilliantly quirky. Naturally, everything is totally Instagrammable – and comes with a side order of fun.
Step into a Willy Wonka world
The brainchild of chef Ricardo De Marco, Space Kitchen is an expression of his playful, imaginative style. The first thing that hits you is Space Kitchen’s vast cabinet of cakes in all colours of the rainbow. From single-serve creations in the shapes of toadstools or cheese, to giant celebratory unicorn cakes, the menu is as eye-popping as it is delicious.
Choose from salted caramel butterbings, almond croissants and decadent opera cakes. Pause with a single-origin coffee over a Nutella cheesecake or lemon meringue.
Don’t leave without taking home a little Space Kitchen edible souvenir that looks too good to eat!
Breakfast and lunch
Not all Space Kitchen’s offerings are for those with a sweet tooth. Although its cakes are the stars of the show, its breakfasts and lunches are equally to-die-for. Early risers and intergalactic explorers will love Space Green Eggs and Ham; a medley of ham, poached eggs, herb hollandaise sauce, crispy sweet potato and sautéed baby spinach on warm focaccia bread.
Lunches at Space Kitchen are a casual, laid-back affair. Serving crowd-pleasers like burgers, tacos, poke bowls and salads, it’s super family friendly. There’s even a bespoke kid’s menu – who are guaranteed to love the Unicorn Hotcake complete with waffle, custard, and fairy floss.
Toast with High Tea
To toast special occasions (or just because), Space Kitchen’s High Tea sessions are a great way to celebrate. Across the course of this culinary adventure, you’ll be dazzled by sweet and savoury courses starring a selection of Space Kitchen’s greatest hits like Five Spice Calamari and the trippy sounding Psychedelic Mushroom Strawberry Mousse. Choose from tea or coffee or make your High Tea even more celebratory with an optional glass of fizz.
