ActewAGL has expanded its electric vehicle (EV) charging network with the launch of Bungendore’s first DC fast chargers. Providing an additional charging option, whether it be for drivers on their way to and from the South Coast or locals wanting a quick top up while out and about, ActewAGL’s new EV chargers are conveniently located in the rear carpark of the Bungendore Service Centre on the Kings Highway.

Featuring a 75kW DC fast charger with CCS2 and CHAdeMO plugs, the Bungendore station can simultaneously accommodate two EVs and caters to the full range of EVs in the market today, including Tesla, BYD, Hyundai, Nissan and Mitsubishi. Available on the Evie Networks public charging platform, EV drivers are able to use the Evie card or app for a quick and seamless charging experience.

With EV adoption hitting an all-time high in the ACT and thousands of Canberrans regularly embarking on trips to the South Coast, ActewAGL is installing EV charging infrastructure alleviating the potential for range anxiety.

The new Bungendore EV chargers are approximately 100 kilometres from existing Batemans Bay chargers (located in the car park of the Village Centre) – easily within the range of EVs available in the market today.

“We’re pleased to bring the first DC chargers to Bungendore. With several more stations in planning, we’ll continue to provide accessible and convenient charging solutions to make EV ownership even more attractive,” said Rachael Turner, General Manager of ActewAGL Retail.

“With the new ActewAGL DC fast chargers being able to provide up to 75km of range in 10 minutes, drivers are in for an efficient and convenient charging stop – whether they’re local and out and about enjoying cafes, shops and galleries, or visitors making their way to and from the coast”.

ActewAGL’s commitment to progressing the uptake of lower emission EVs was recognised at the 2023 Climate Choices Business Awards, when its evHub was awarded Winner of the Zero Emissions Early Movers category. ActewAGL’s evHub continues to evolve, with new offers for home charging products and energy plans tailored for EV owners.
