What can I experience at Yarrangobilly Caves Thermal Pool?

Located off the Snowy Mountains Highway, the Yarrangobilly Caves Thermal Pool is nestled within a gorgeously secluded valley. Follow the trail from the car park down to the valley floor where you’ll find the pool in a picturesque clearing.

Although it is man-made, the 20-metre pool is fed by natural spring water, abundant in calcium, magnesium, and sodium. As you swim or simply float, you can gaze at the impressive mountain vista and carpet of eucalyptus that surrounds you.

There is a shallow wading pool as well which is suitable for children. Picnic benches surround the pool and there is plenty of space in the clearing to lay down a towel or blanket. Changing rooms are on site too.

How can I see the Yarrangobilly Caves?

No visit would be complete without a tour of the area’s legendary caves. There are four main caves open to explore, South Glory, Jersey, Jillabenan, and North Glory. Millions of years old, the cavernous chambers drip with stalactites and unique stone formations.

South Glory is the largest cave and be explored on a self-guided tour. The other three caves can be visited on a guided tour where you’ll learn about their cave coral, helictites and shimmering crystals.
